The Homicide Unit investigates all reported cases of deaths, including homicides, suicides, casualties, and natural deaths in Kansas City, Mo. The unit is dedicated to the compassionate and fair treatment of all victims and their families during the course of investigation, and ensures they are made aware of any available victim assistance, including financial and psychological counseling resources.
Homicide Unit detectives provide victims and victims’ families as much information (without jeopardizing the investigation) as soon as possible, and keep them up to date throughout the investigation. They also reach out to our Social Service Specialist Team to provide additional support for family and loved ones.

The Kansas City Missouri Police Department will continue to investigate these and all other homicides until the suspects are identified, caught, and the cases are brought to the appropriate prosecutor’s offices.
