Traffic Complaints

If you need immediate police attention for an emergency situation, do not use this form. Instead, call 911. This online traffic complaint form is designed to allow residents of Kansas City, Mo., to report directly to the KCPD traffic problems that are occurring either in their neighborhood or in a particular part of the city. Examples of such complaints are speeding vehicles, vehicles running stop signs, making illegal turns, failing to yield at crosswalks and other hazardous violations. For issues such as malfunctioning traffic lights, missing street signs, potholes, etc., please report these by using the City’s 311 Action Center. Call 311 or 816-513-1313. This complaint form should not be used to file a complaint about having received a traffic citation or to complain about the behavior of a member of the KCPD. For those issues, please contact the patrol division station responsible for the area in which you live. If you submit this form, an officer could contact you to clarify information, report enforcement activity or to follow up with you on the results of your complaint. Therefore, your contact information is required. Anonymous complaints will be received, but no action will be taken. Your information will be considered confidential and will not be released to any outside individual or organization.

Please give a specific intersection (e.g. 12th Street and Indiana) or stretch of road (e.g. Gregory Boulevard from Troost Avenue to Paseo Boulevard). General neighborhood boundaries and lengthy stretches of roadway (e.g. I-435 from Front Street to Bannister Road) will not be addressed without further clarification of the problem area.
If your problem occurs all days of the week, please select "all days" from the menu. However, the more specific you are, the greater the chance that officers will be able to effectively address your complaint.
