Our Mission

The mission of the Vice Section is to make a positive difference in the lives of all citizens of the community, primarily though the investigation and prosecution of vice related crimes.  Members of the Vice Section will remain responsive to the needs of all citizens and will strive to achieve our highest potential as confident, competent and caring individuals.

• The Vice Section is comprised of 4 detectives and 1 Sergeant.

• The Vice Section is responsible for investigating the following crimes:
   
• Prostitution-Escort Services
• Internet Crimes Against Children
• Gambling
• Liquor violations/tobacco violations
• Ticket scalping
• Adult bookstores
• Party Houses
• Minor tobacco and liquor violations
• Child Pornography
• Tattoo Parlors
• Body Piercing
• Other nude & semi-nude dancing

• The Vice Section does not handle street level prostitution.  For complaints regarding street level prostitution please contact the individual Patrol Stations.

The Vice Section has 1 detective assigned to Investigating Internet Crimes Against Children.  The detective is an active member of the Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force.  The detective’s responsibilities include investigating child enticement, and child pornography possession and distribution.
