SWEAR-IN CEREMONY OF CHIEF JOSEPH E. MABIN, JR.

 

A meeting of the Board of Police Commissioners of Kansas City, Missouri was held on Friday, April 22, 2022, at KCPD Headquarters, Community Room, 1125 Locust, Kansas City.

PRESENT:

Commissioner Mark Tolbert, President

Commissioner Cathy Dean, Vice President

Commissioner Don Wagner, Treasurer

Commissioner Dawn Cramer, Member

Mr. David V. Kenner, Secretary/Attorney

ABSENT:

Mayor Quinton Lucas, Member

           

            At 9:01 a.m., Joseph E. Mabin, Jr. was sworn-in as the 47th Chief of Police of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department by the Honorable Kevin Harrell.  Chief Mabin thanked the Board for selecting him to serve as Chief of Police during the interim while a national search is being conducted.  He also thanked the men and women of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department for their dedication, protection, and service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri and its community members.  Chief Mabin stated that under his leadership, the Department will continue efforts to reduce violent crime.  He will also focus on building trust in the Department and strengthening relationships with the community.
