After she did not return home, her mother became concerned and started contacting family and friends trying to find anyone that had her.

At 9 a.m. the next morning, June 25, 1983, the victim’s body was discovered near 2000 E. 22nd Street, hidden in the brush of a semi-secluded area not far from her home.

The 30-year-old victim was last seen the night of April 14, 1990, or the morning of April 15, 1990. Her body was discovered about 1 p.m. April 19, 1990, north of 4220 N.E. Birmingham Rd. on old 210 Highway. It was off a closed road in a remote area near woods. Ms. Baker was known to frequent several bars in the North Kansas City area: Helen’s on 210 Highway, Marcy’s on Vivion Road and the Depot in Avondale, Missouri. She was last seen at one of these bars prior to her disappearance. While they don’t know for sure, police think the victim might have encountered the suspect at one of the bars. The victim, age 21, and his friend were on foot at 39th and Broadway near the Westport entertainment district when they were caught in the crossfire of rival gang members shooting at each other from various vehicles at about 3:20 a.m. May 20, 2007. The victim sustained a gunshot wound during the shooting and subsequently died from his injury. The victim was an innocent bystander who lost his life to gang violence.

There is a $30,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.

On November 13, 1999, at 6:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported shooting at 935 W. 24th Street.  When they arrived, they located the victim, Salvador Chavez, lying on the sidewalk on the west side of Belleview, just south of 24th Street.  Mr. Chavez had suffered an apparent gunshot and was pronounced dead at the scene.Anyone with information that can help solve this case is asked to call the Cold Case Squad at 816-234-5136.

On January 14, 1994, at about 12:30 p.m., utility workers discovered the body of Kimberly Cowhick, in a field thick with brush and weeds in an area south of N. 72nd and North Brighton. It was determined by the Medical Examiner that the victim’s body could have been in the field for some time and that she had died of a gunshot wound. Ms. Cowhick was last seen alive November 28, 1993, by her boyfriend when she left a motel near Independence Avenue and Paseo to walk to a nearby store. She never returned. The victim was a known prostitute who frequented the areas of 18th and Main and Independence Avenue, and her murder might have been in connection to prostitution. UPDATE: SOLVED, 2020

On July 26, 1989, Fawn Cox’s body was discovered in her bed on the 2nd floor of her home near 9th and Van Brunt. Cox died a violent death, and her death was ruled a homicide. Evidence suggests that the suspect(s) broke into the residence during the night and murdered Cox, while other family members were asleep in other parts of the home. A couple hunting for crawdads discovered the 26-year-old victim’s body on June 6, 1983, in a ravine near 66th and Paseo. Ms. Davis had no known involvement in criminal activity.She was last seen late in the evening of June 3, 1983, or the early morning hours of June 4, 1983, at a nightclub called The Pink Garter, which was in the area of 39th and Main streets.

On October 18, 1994, at 4:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to a disturbance call in the courtyard of an apartment buildiing at 3744 Warwick. When officers arrived, they discovered the bloodied body of Twila Harris lying just inside an open door of apartment number one. The officers called for an ambulance and checked the interior of the apartment but found no one else. Ms. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, suffering from apparent stab wounds. Witnesses reported hearing a female screaming for help.The victim was later identified as 26-year-old Twila Harris. A male was seen running away from the scene toward 38th and Walnut, but no other information was developed.

On December 30, 2002, at 8 a.m., the body of 23-year-old Adrian Harrison was discovered in a small abandoned building in the parking lot at 11th and Elmwood. Harrison’s death was later ruled a homicide.

On April 26, 2002, at 1:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance assault call at 5400 Tracy.  When officers arrived they found one victim who was alive, sitting on the living room floor covered in blood. The second victim, who was identified as 41-year-old John Hees, was located in the second-floor southwest bedroom lying face down on the floor in a large pool of blood. Mr. Hees was pronounced dead at the scene. It was later determined the crime was an apparent residential robbery.

On  December 4, 1985, at 10:49 p.m., officers were dispatched to a robbery call at the Pizza Hut located at 7510 E. 87th Street. When they arrived on the scene, the officers found Brett Kreglo lying on the floor of the Pizza Hut’s entry foyer, located just inside the east side of the business. He was pronounced dead.  Mr. Kreglo, who was a customer, had just entered the business when he was shot by one of the robbery suspects. On May 31, 2003, at 7:13 a.m., police officers and the fire department were dispatched to a car fire at 1101 Guinotte. When fire fighters arrived on the scene, they reported that they had found the vehicle, a 1992 Acura Legend, on fire and that there was a body inside. The charred body was that of 27-year-old Bao N. Luu. His death was later ruled a homicide.

Two black male suspects walked into the 7-Eleven at 319 E. 63rd St. sometime between 1:30 and 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, and opened fire on the clerk Caroline Neal. Neal, 58, died at the scene.Neal was a wife, mother and grandmother who took the part-time job that July to earn a little extra money. She lived in the Brookside area near the store. Police believe that a store manager at that 7-Eleven had previously kicked the same men out of the store for shoplifting. The men were in the store less than 20 seconds. The gunmen did not rob the store.

The victim, a 40-year-old, free-lance pilot, was last seen on April 6, 1980, at a bar inside the Holiday Inn Hotel at I-29 and 291 Highway. The victim responded to the bar to meet a man who wanted to hire him for a job flying parts to oil fields in Oklahoma City. The victim arrived at the bar at approximately 7:30 p.m. and met with an individual who identified himself as Pete Peterson. The victim left the bar with subject Peterson and never returned. Subject Peterson returned to the bar at approximately 9 p.m. dressed in different clothing.

The victim’s body was discovered May 4, 1980, in a partially wooded area at N. 108th and Skyview. The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was involved in a highly contested divorce involving custody of his children. The victim’s wife and mother in-law made threats to harm the him. The victim’s vehicle was discovered abandoned in long-term parking lot “E” at KCI Airport on April 8, 1980. A heavy concentration of blood was found on the passenger-side floor of the vehicle.

During the morning of May 3, 1997, Todd Siemens, an armed security guard for a local security company, was working at the Taqueria Mexico Restaurant at 910 SW. Blvd. Shortly before 4 a.m., Siemens became involved in a disturbance with a Hispanic male in front of the restaurant, after the restaurant refused to sell him anymore liquor because they were closed. A physical confrontation ensued in which the Hispanic male disarmed Siemens of his handgun and shot him several times, and then fled the scene with the weapon.  Police found Siemens lying in the street suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he later died.Witnesses reported that a short time after the murder, the suspect got on a Santa Fe Railroad train near the area where the murder occurred, and headed eastbound out of Kansas City.  The suspect told witnesses that he needed to get out of town and was possibly heading to Texas, or possibly to his home state of Chihuahua, Mexico.  The suspect may also have ties to Juarez, Mexico.The suspect is reported to be a Hispanic male, 5’6″ to 5’8″, 180 pound, stocky, 22 to 30 years of age (at the time of the crime), short black hair, and medium to dark complexion.  He has a tattoo on the right inner forearm area, possibly a grim reaper with a scythe, and a tattoo on the left upper arm near the shoulder of the initials”R.M.P” or “M.R.P.”  The suspect also is described as having numerous, large, visible scars on his right arm, probably cuts.  The suspect reportedly only spoke Spanish and was only known by the names of “Morgan,” “Nelson,” and “Mortal Combat.” The suspect had apparently only been in the Kansas City, Missouri, area for approximately one month before the murder occurred and worked for a short time at a small, nearby, Mexican business near the scene of the murder.

Allen Ray Thompson was 16 years old on Jan. 2, 1970, and at home with his mother at 3727 Forest. At about 9:45 p.m., two people described as black males in their late teens/early 20s robbed Allen’s mother and shot and killed Allen. Alice Cramer, 47, and her friend Donald Watson, 57, were discovered murdered in Alice’s home at 13401 Charlotte St. on October 24, 1996.

On 03/31/2009 at 1250 hours officers were dispatched to 6407 Manchester Ave in regard to a suspicious vehicle and a party armed. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim in the stairwell on the west side of the building. The victim, Ahmed Johnson, had been shot. He died at the scene.
