Exploring Law Enforcement

KCPD Explorer Post 8600 is open to youth ages 14-20 interested in careers in Law Enforcement. Working alongside veteran police officers, our youth Explorers meet twice a month with hands-on activities like field trips, special guests, behind-the-scenes tours, and basic training in police tactics.

Explorers also have the opportunity to assist KCPD officers in the field with crowd control duties at events like the St. Patrick's Day Parade, Plaza Art Fair, Plaza Lighting, and more.
