The Kansas City Missouri Police Department’s South Patrol Division is playing host to a job fair specifically for ex-offenders tomorrow.

More than 25 employers will be at the fair seeking to hire those who want a new start after a criminal conviction. Agencies that assist with things like education and GEDs also will be there. Interviews will be conducted on site. Four bicycles also will be raffled off every hour to job-seekers in attendance.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 18 in the Multi-Purpose Building behind the South Patrol Division at 9701 Marion Park Dr., Kansas City, Mo.

“We want to give people a second chance to get back to work,” Officer Mary McCall said.

Officer McCall serves as one of South Patrol Division’s Community Interaction Officers and is coordinating the event along with Officer Aaron Whitehead, the other Community Interaction Officer at South Patrol.

The event is sponsored by Missouri State Representatives Richard Brown and DaRon McGee as well as Kansas City Council Members Lee Barnes, Alissia Canady, Kevin McManus and Scott Taylor.
