About 150 children received Christmas toys, Nov. 30, during the annual Cops and Kids shopping event at the Ward Parkway Mall.

KCPD officers took the kids shopping for the gifts of their choice, thanks to the program organized by the Kansas City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 99 (KCFOP). It was the largest event to the date for the program.

For the 8th year, the KCFOP is also providing gifts to 30 foster kids. Additionally, the program is partnering for the first time with a local domestic violence shelter and will shop the lists for the children in the shelter.
