Residents taking part in the spring session of the Citizens Police Academy graduated earlier this month after 11 weeks of attendance.

During this time, the graduates went on ride-alongs, learned about KCPD’s social worker program, and visited the crime lab, learning the ins and outs of KCPD.

KCPD is accepting applications for our next Citizens Academy beginning on August 30 - www.kcpd.org/get-involved/citizens-police-academy/.

Participants will take field trips to places like the Helicopter, Canine, and Bomb and Arson Units. Admission to the program is open to anyone 18 or older who has a good standing in the community and is a resident of or works in the City of Kansas City, Mo.
