Fourteen women and men, making up KCPD’s 179th Entrant Officer Class, graduated from the Regional Police Academy on Thursday, Feb. 8.

The graduation concluded a seven-month training period. Earlier in the day, the recruits took their oaths to serve Kansas City, sworn in by Chief Stacey Graves.

These new police officers will now work in the field, alongside Field Training Officers, during a probationary period.

Officer Joshua Clark was named valedictorian and earned the Director’s Award for his overall academic, physical fitness, and leadership skills. Officer Jordan Wheeler won the Resiliency Award for his ability to overcome adversity, while maintaining peak performance.
