Patrol Officers Equipped With Narcan

By the weekend of June 16^th, all patrol officers at KCPD will carry Narcan with them. Officers, including detention officers, are trained to administer it.

Narcan is a medicine that can reverse an opioid overdose, restoring normal breathing to a person. According to the CDC, overdose deaths are at near-record levels. Their latest data shows more than 110,000 deaths nationwide over a 12-month period.
