Below are the votes from the closed session of the Board of Police Commissioners meeting on June 15, 2021.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Mayor Lucas, the Board voted to go into closed session to discuss litigation matters, personnel matters, and labor negotiations.  The vote was 4-0 in favor.  Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Mayor Lucas voted Aye.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Commissioner Wagner, the Board voted to authorize certain settlement authority for the claim of James Tangeman in an amount not to exceed $___.[1].  The vote was 4-0 in favor.  Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Mayor Lucas voted Aye.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Mayor Lucas, the Board voted to approve the applications for continued employment of Sergeant Deborah Randol, Police Officer Michael Atwood, and Reserve Police Officer Don Smarker.  The vote was 4-0 in favor.  Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Mayor Lucas voted Aye.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Mayor Lucas, the Board voted to deny the disability retirement application of ___________.[2]  The vote was 4-0 in favor.  Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Mayor Lucas voted Aye.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Mayor Lucas, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the closed sessions of the Board of Police Commissioners on May 11, 24, and 28, 2021.  The vote was 4-0 in favor.  Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Mayor Lucas voted Aye. 

 

Mayor Lucas left the meeting at 12:48 p.m.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Commissioner Wagner, the Board voted to come out of closed session and adjourn.  The vote was 3-0 in favor.  Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, and Commissioner Wagner voted Aye.

 

The Board adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
