What is Crime Prevention?

It is a pattern of attitudes and behaviors directed at reducing the threat of crime and enhancing the sense of safety and security. Crime prevention positively influences the quality of life in our community and helps to develop environments where crime cannot flourish.

Crime Prevention Goals:

·         To reduce crime or the fear of crime.
·         To enhance the knowledge of citizens and police officers in respect to community pro-active crime prevention strategies.
·         To develop tactics and strategies this will create and maintain vital community successful crime prevention programs.
·         To enhance the safety and the quality of life for Kansas Citians.
