October 25, 2022 Closed Session Meeting

Below are the votes from the closed session meeting of the Board of Police Commissioners on October 25, 2022 (Commissioner Dean and Mayor Lucas participated via Webex):

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean, and a second by Commissioner Cramer, the Board voted to go into closed session to discuss litigation matters, personnel matters, and labor negotiations.  The vote was 5-0 in favor.   Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, Commissioner Cramer voted Aye, and Mayor Lucas voted Aye.

 

Following a motion by Mayor Lucas and a second by Commissioner Dean, the Board voted to approve certain settlement authority in connection with the lawsuit styled Rotonya McGee, et al. v. Officer John Doe, in an amount not to exceed $___.[1]  The vote was 5-0 in favor.  Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, Commissioner Cramer voted Aye, and Mayor Lucas voted Aye.

 

Mayor Lucas temporarily left the meeting.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Commissioner Wagner, the Board voted to approve the duty-related disability retirement of _____.[2] The vote was 4-0 in favor.  Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Commissioner Cramer voted Aye.

 

Mayor Lucas returned to the meeting.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Mayor Lucas, the Board voted to approve the application for continued employment of Police Officer Dave Osbahr.  The vote was 5-0 in favor.   Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, Commissioner Cramer voted Aye, and Mayor Lucas voted Aye.

 

Mayor Lucas left the meeting.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Commissioner Cramer, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the closed Board meetings on September 27, 2022, October 4, 2022, and October 17, 2022.  The vote was 4-0 in favor.   Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Commissioner Cramer voted Aye.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Commissioner Cramer, the Board voted to go into special closed session to discuss personnel matters.  The vote was 4-0 in favor.  Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Commissioner Cramer voted Aye.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Dean and a second by Commissioner Wagner, the Board voted to approve the minutes of the special closed Board meetings on September 19, 2022, and October 18, 2022.  The vote was 4-0 in favor.   Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Commissioner Cramer voted Aye.

 

Following a motion by Commissioner Wagner and a second by Commissioner Dean, the Board voted to come out of special closed session and adjourn.  The vote was 4-0 in favor.   Following polling, Commissioner Tolbert voted Aye, Commissioner Dean voted Aye, Commissioner Wagner voted Aye, and Commissioner Cramer voted Aye.

 

The Board adjourned at 1:35 p.m.
