Teams of Officers Break Up Illegal Sideshows

Sunday night, April 7, teams of officers broke up dangerous sideshows that popped up across the city. The officers used side sticks to deflate the tires of those participating and then eluding the law.

There were:

39 successful stop stick deployments

27 traffic citations

4 city warrant arrests

3 vehicles towed

1 felony warrant arrest

1 child endangerment – a participant, with his 7-year-old, attempted to elude officers

In some areas, KCPD worked with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department. KCKPD issued 32 citations and towed five vehicles.

KCPD is committed and working hard to counter these illegal sideshows.
