Internet Fraud Questions
Question: I responded to an Internet ad to purchase a vehicle. The seller wanted me to wire the money and that, upon receipt of the money, the vehicle would be shipped to me. I wired the money, however have not received the vehicle. What should I do?
Answer: Send a ten (10) day demand letter to the seller. Secondly, report the offense to the police. Keep good records, which should include:
- Copies of all e-mails, including the header and footer of the e-mail
- Copies, or screen shots, of the internet ads
- Detailed records of all conversations regarding the sale
